For bloggers worldwide, registering a domain and then setting up a website of their own for whatever they desire to make public has been a tradition followed with the Internet progressing. On the vast ocean of the Internet, a wide range of sites featuring diverse topics are easily accessible for their intended audience.
However, the essence of a blog lies in the information a blogger passes to their readers, that is, it’s the words that matter the most. Quite a certain amount of blog starters, who expect to get encouraged to stick to thinking and writing by publishing something they type, find themselves embarrassed in a dilemma over which theme to pick for their website, and furthermore they might spend much energy on the decoration work instead of producing insightful and helpful content they imagined before.
As a person who’s curious about the web and longs to own a website that gets popular on any search engine!! since late elementary school, I’ve tried building sites on Jekyll, Hexo, Hugo, Ghost, and finally, Astro. Having switched to several fancy themes, I decided to turn my attention to the words and content I wish to demonstrate to whoever lucky enough to see rather than those exquisite layouts. Therefore, this site is rebirthed with the theme of Astro Cactus!
Sometimes I was bewildered by this tough question— what should I write, and obviously I’m not alone. I’m not a traveller, so I can’t always upload photos of beautiful scenery; I’m not a programmer, therefore I have no coding experiences to share; I’m not a salesman and this website is purely for my own affairs, like recording some memorable moments of my life span and sharing my points of view to some events.
But what else? What is something that can be traced and is acceptable to me? Well that should be reading, as reading pages is entertaining and obviously I could do a book review after finishing one. I’m also love catching up with news and sometimes even gossip, which is able to bring me something new, cool. It’s wonderful to recap the knowledge you learnt from a piece of news report or just some confusing remarks Donald Trump’s made just an hour ago huh.
Besides, as a language learner, writing blog posts in a different language really does the trick. I’m not gonna make further explanation as we’re all in a digital age. Currently I’m learning French. Maybe I’ll start writing diaries in French someday.
What is so attractive being a blogger is as if you made a promise to change. Leave yourself an hour or so to just sit down, escape the distractions around you and calm down, diving deep in your thoughts and letting your fingers compose the words and punctuation marks. The magic of outputting will magically be revealed once you find something is unveiled.
